Job Summary

Oversee the operations across our business units in Indonesia and Myanmar. This senior leadership position will play a pivotal role in driving operational excellence, ensuring effective resource allocation, and leading cross-functional teams to achieve strategic objectives in both markets.

The ideal candidate will possess a strong track record in operational leadership, project management, team development, and business growth, with a deep understanding of the local market dynamics in Southeast Asia, specifically Indonesia and Myanmar.

Job Description

  • Provide leadership towards the achievement of Company's mission, strategy, goals & objectives.
  • Oversee and manage the day-to-day operations in Indonesia and Myanmar, ensuring alignment with overall business goals and local market needs. Develop and implement strategies to optimize productivity, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop high-performing operational teams across both countries. Foster a collaborative culture and drive performance through effective leadership, coaching, and clear communication.
  • Work closely with local and regional teams in sales, marketing, finance, HR, and supply chain to drive synergies, share best practices, and achieve company objectives. Collaborate with headquarters to ensure consistency across operations.
  • Take full responsibility for the P&L performance of operations in Indonesia and Myanmar, driving sustainable growth and profitability. Monitor financial performance, identify risks, and implement corrective actions when necessary.
  • Conduct regular market assessments to understand industry trends, regulatory changes, and competitive dynamics in Indonesia and Myanmar. Identify potential operational risks and develop mitigation strategies to ensure business continuity.
  • Analyze and improve operational processes, systems, and workflows to enhance efficiency and service delivery. Lead continuous improvement initiatives to streamline operations and reduce costs without compromising quality.
  • Supervise, train and motivate Section Heads and play a critical role in assisting the Management in the transformation of the Company's culture and ensure consistency in practicing Company core values & work etiquettes by actively communicating the vision and goals to all levels.
  • To formulate and implement plans to develop an effective operational structure and direct, coach, train and motivate teams towards the establishment of a continual improvement environment.
  • Ensure that operations in both countries adhere to local regulations, standards, and corporate policies. Stay updated on changes in laws and regulations and ensure timely implementation of required adjustments.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders. Represent the company in high-level meetings and negotiations.

Requirements:

  • Recognized Degree in Business or any related field.
  • At least 10 years working experience which includes at least 4 years in managerial positions, in high-volume manufacturing environment, preferably in FMCG. Previous experience in multi-country or regional operations is highly preferred.
  • Overall exposure to end to end operations is an added advantage.
  • Excellent leadership, problem solving, integration and interpersonal skills.
  • Able to build a strong culture of teamwork and align departmental goals to the Company's strategic objectives.
  • Successful in deploying commercial components into high-volume production with fast time-to-market and cost-sensitivity requirements.
  • Self-starter and a team player that will thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
  • Proven ability to lead diverse teams in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Experience in managing cross-functional teams and driving high-performance cultures.
  • Strong understanding of P&L management, budgeting, financial forecasting, and cost control.
  • In-depth knowledge of the business culture, regulations, and market dynamics in both Indonesia and Myanmar.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to make data-driven decisions quickly.
  • Experience in managing large teams across multiple countries or regions.
  • Familiarity with digital transformation and technological advancements in operations management.
  • Strong network of contacts in Southeast Asia, particularly within Indonesia and Myanmar.
  • Willingness to travel frequently between Indonesia and Myanmar as well as to other locations as needed.
