Location: LRT Ara Damansara
Role: 5-day week, permanent position
Purpose:
Support the tendering and contract procurement processes by preparing accurate cost estimates, sourcing quotations, coordinating with stakeholders, and ensuring timely submission of tenders. The role requires a detail-oriented individual with strong analytical skills and a positive learning attitude.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and submit tender documents including Bills of Quantities, cost estimates, and tender clarifications.
- Review and interpret architectural and engineering drawings and specifications for tendering purposes.
- Source, compare and evaluate supplier and subcontractor quotations to ensure competitive and accurate pricing.
- Coordinate with internal departments (design, project, procurement, QS).
- Participate in pre-tender and post-tender meetings with consultants, clients, and subcontractors as required.
- Prepare and maintain tender summaries/documents for management review.
- Monitor tender submission deadlines and ensure timely delivery of complete documents.
- Maintain a database of rates, materials, subcontractors, and suppliers for use in future tenders.
- Assist in risk assessment and value engineering for each tender submission.
- Continuously improve knowledge of construction methods, pricing strategies, and industry trends.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Quantity Surveying or equivalent.
- 2–3 years of relevant experience in tendering or contracts administration in the construction industry (fresh graduates are encouraged to apply).
- Strong in build-up rates (BUR) and MS Excel.
- Excellent attention to detail and numerical accuracy.
- Positive learning attitude with initiative to grow and take on new challenges.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and AutoCAD; cost estimating software advantageous.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Team player with good interpersonal skills.
